Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the LedgerCast application (the "App") operated by R. M. Burgess ("we," "our," or "us").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

LedgerCast is a personal financial planning tool available on iOS and the web that allows you to:

• Track paychecks and income with custom frequencies
• Manage recurring bills and expenses
• Add one-time financial entries
• View a projected 5-year financial forecast
• Set balance warning thresholds
• Create and manage multiple ledgers
• Share ledgers with other users for collaborative financial planning
• Mark entries as paid, archive them, and track overdue items
• Override individual entry amounts on a per-date or recurring basis
• Export your data and manage your account

The App is designed for personal financial planning purposes only and is not a substitute for professional financial advice.

3. Advertising and In-App Purchases

The App displays ads provided by Google AdMob on iOS. You may purchase a one-time ad removal option for $1.99 through the App Store. This purchase is non-refundable except as required by applicable law or App Store policies. Pricing may vary by region.

4. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using one of our supported sign-in methods: email OTP (a one-time login code sent to your email), Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or Facebook Login. You agree to:

• Provide a valid email address that you have access to
• Maintain the security of your email account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

5. Shared Ledgers

The App allows you to share ledgers with other users. When using shared ledgers:

• Ledger owners are responsible for managing access and invitations
• All members of a shared ledger can view its financial data
• Editors can modify shared data, which affects all members' views
• You may leave a shared ledger at any time
• Deleting a ledger you own will permanently remove it for all members

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to transmit malicious code or harmful content
• Create multiple accounts for abusive purposes
• Share invite codes or invitations in ways that compromise other users' data

7. Financial Disclaimer

The App is a planning tool only. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of forecasts or projections. The App:

• Does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice
• Is not a substitute for professional financial planning
• Does not connect to your bank accounts or financial institutions
• Relies on data you manually enter, which may contain errors

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. We recommend consulting qualified professionals for financial advice.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by R. M. Burgess and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App without our express written permission.

9. User Data

You retain ownership of the financial data you enter into the App. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data solely to provide the App's services, including sharing data with other members of your shared ledgers. 10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain App availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance
• Technical issues or outages
• Factors beyond our control

We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from App unavailability.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the delete account feature in the App settings. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• All data associated with your R. M. Burgess account will be permanently deleted
• Ledgers you own will be deleted for all members
• All data from any other R. M. Burgess apps using this account is also permanently deleted
• Your authentication record (email and user ID) is permanently deleted

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, R.M. BURGESS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless R. M. Burgess from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, nothing in these terms affects your rights under applicable EU consumer protection or data protection laws, including the GDPR.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and R. M. Burgess regarding your use of the App.
